i could learn world trade.. or try to map the ocean

I've had a nice past week. It really has been insanely dynamic and outlandish. This week will be nothing of contrast, I'm sure.

Spent the evening relaxing, napping, putting my new fan together and finally going to see two really great performances in millenium park. The setting was one I had forgotten about. It's dusk, there are thousands of people surrounding us on blankets with bottles and sandwiches.

I was officially stuck in Michigan yesterday for the first time in a while.. one of brittney and my, ultimately, clever ideas. It was an adventure getting home, but I arrived--slushie-d out, covered in sunburn and plans i did my best to stick to. And, to top it all off, Jen successfully portrayed herself as my girlfriend for our entertainment of being able to fit into the festivities going on in my neighborhood. 

I'm crazy about Jenny Lewis lately. She's making it all work. 

J: Babe, are you ready to be done first-date-ing now?

Chris: No! He is soo cutee!

J: I don't know you, you damn softie.

Tuesday night was kidnapped by some cats.. got to brit's at 11p.. put all my bags on her door step and knocked.

She opened the door... i say.. "can i stay the night?" in the sweetest little voice ever. It was basically like a marine love story where the dude shows up with his bags on the doorstep unannounced. Needless to say, she FLIPPED HER SHIT. Per usual. But, really... that shit only happens in the movies. 

Other than that, been scootin' around and enjoying myself in KAL for a few days. 

All kidding and jokes aside, I am really enjoying myself and IL. 

It's 3:30 a.m. Elei and I went to the Andersonville Street Festival today and then headed home and packed up to go to the beach. Being at the street fair was fab-- it was filled with greasy food, beer, bands, vendors, people (mostly gays) and sunshine. All I could think about was CA. Chicago is a beautiful place. Jun-October, it's gorgeous. It's obviously part of the Midwest, so the seasons and the weather are both constantly off the wall. It's the winters.. they are vicious.. they're brutal. If you can get through a Chicago winter, you can get through anything. I've gotten through 3, so I think I'm in pretty good shape thus far. 

I don't know how it would be to be in a place too long. Other than Michigan. I was forced into spending my childhood there, which was fine. You stay where your parents are, etc. Michigan is a beautiful place. I'm really quite proud of my roots actually. 

I want to feel the sun, the people outside exercising, the beach volleyball... every day of the year. So, ultimately, I guess Chicago isn't the place for me... and California might be. I have so many places I want to live. I wish I could give them all a test drive. I mean, I can. I just wish I could easier than moving my things 09234 miles to do it. Technically, I could. I realize this. There are storage facilities, etc.

 For now, I'm enjoying who I am, who you are, and where we are. Guess that's most important. 

None of this is what I came here to write...better luck next time. 

I have to be up at 6am. hahah. shoot. 

North Carolina was almost the most fun I've ever had...which is silly because I almost hated Charlotte.

Crazy lineup for the rest of the summer. Can't even write it all.. Too much.

The highlights in my life right now are that I plan to finish my AR this weekend, drop off for print on Monday and be done with classes on Thursday. At this point, I will get on a train to Mi City, IN- Britt will grab my punk ass and we'll go back to Kzoo. I'm going to try to be as nice as possible in kzoo since brit has to work 12-5 on friday and i'll need to be around somewhere with people. I WILL be on vacation, you know. Then we'll head to GR for 2 days. 

I ran errands all morning today. I came to the conclusion I could never be one of those wives that run errands all day long. 

Justin's new girl weirdo is buying him things already.. hmm.

This update sucks. I have a headache, a 500000 page AR to finish and a bad taste in my mouth. peace out. 

I can now update my blog from my blackberry. Oooh ooohh ohhhhh this is gonna be kind of neat. What a treat.
