[saw this last night when we met a few folks that do screen-printing in house in pilsen >> i'm obsessed with this. it's all a joke between them that they stole, but i'm going to use the phrase for something else completely. they like it.]

some things to remember:
1. at first i was like, and then i was like.
2. it's like that instant in the optometrists office when the right lens clicks over, the letters on the chart start sharpening.
3. take it with a grain of salt.
4. what hurts so bad about youth isn't the actual butt whippings the world delivers. it's the stupid hopes playacting like certainties.
5. there are only the pursuing, the pursued, the busy & the tired.
6. figure out what it means to surrender.
7. electricity strikes when you're moving.
8. be grateful for things that work. i am. i'm grateful for things that are easy and work. not many things work, you know?

a quick note from gatsby:
"nevertheless, you did throw me over," said jordan suddenly. "you threw me over on the telephone but i don't give a damn about you now, but it was a new experience for me, and i felt a little dizzy for a while." we shook hands. "oh, and do you remember-" she added, "a conversation we had once about driving a car?" "why not exactly." "you said a bad driver was only save until they met another bad driver? well, i met another bad driver, didn't i? i thought you were rather an honest, straightforward person. i thought it was your secret pride." "i'm thirty, i said. i'm five years too old to lie to myself and call it honor."

notes:
1. first u10 little dudes game today.
2. saw slash the other night live-i either want to be him or have him; either will do at this point.

go wear the world as a loose garment
&
be of good cheer
